Expected results
ESCAPE2 wants to strengthen the rural tourist attractiveness of the identified project areas, promoting a shared and common action in order to valorize territorial resources and sustainably exploit tourist potentialities, through the creation of a transnational rural tourist strategy, targeting people that want "to escape" from the stress of the city and the daily routine to live a slow holiday and to relax.
At national level, the project will facilitate the creation of actors/ stakeholders/ policy-makers networks through the participation to ESCAPE2 local events (dissemination events/local seminars), and it will transfer to these networks all relevant knowledge about rural tourism marketing strategies in synergy with national/local tourism strategies.
Moreover, the project will contribute to make closer the association between the needs of tourism, agriculture, rural development, environmental protection by means of a tourism strategy more and more developed in parallel with wider planning and development strategies and environmental policies.
At cross-border level, it will adopt a common transferable methodology-innovative/integrated strategy for sustainable exploitation of cultural/natural/historical resources as economic assets, to create a Cross-Border Network on High Quality Tourism Rural Development. The wide promotion of the cross-border network (through dissemination events) will provide the improvement of regions attractiveness and increase the international tourist flows, encouraging joining of further neighborhood territories.
Finally, the project aims to raise awareness on the benefits which the valorization/ sustainable exploitation of territorial natural and rural heritage can bring to the economy of the entire project area and beyond, encouraging the creation and growth activities according to the countries’ habits and natural characteristics.
